Father’s Day is quickly approaching and I wanted to give you some quick craft ideas from our Language with Everyday Objects series that would be perfect for Father’s Day.
Dress Like Daddy Bin
Create a bin of items the child’s father wears. Create a tie out of paper and string. Then have fun dressing up like daddy! It promotes knowledge of clothes but is also great for pretend play!

Tool Box Card
Print out the printables (below) and let your child design the tools using paint, stickers, crayons, etc. Then choose one of the 3 wordings to print and past on the front of the toolbox.

Daddy Placemat
Earlier this year we created a DIY placemat for B to use to practice setting the table and learn utensils. Now that she has mastered we are working on setting the table for everyone. SO let’s make dad his very own placemat! (Bonus- it helps teach your child to set the table!)

My Daddy Nature Portrait
First have your child look at a picture of their father. Talk about the color of their hair, eyes, lips, etc. Then have them draw his face using crayons. Go for a nature walk to find the colors for all body parts. Bring back, put contact paper over the drawing (taped down) and design their dad based on the nature items found! I’ve created a couple of “worksheets” to help guide this. Preserve by putting another sheet of contact paper over the sticky side to seal.
